We were delighted to once again stay with Danny at The Old Thorn Barn. We run a motorsport at the Lotus Track which is just round the corner form The Barn and always stay there. We are always greeted as old friends and nothing is too much trouble. One of our party ws new to the trip and his comment was "you have class" as a reaction to then accommodation. With Danny's kind permission we used the dining room for our fish supper, which was a further prrof of the home form home feeing .I would recommend the Old Thorn Barn to everybody needing accommodation in this area

When I arrive to thorn barn my car broke down Danny the host was so helpful he charged by battery on the car and another guest put jump leads on it.The room was lovely the food was really good as a female travelling on my own I couldn't have hoped for more. I would definitely stay here again

The owner was very inviting and helpful. Told me where pubs, shops etc were. Hotel itself is stunning, clean and in a beautiful spot. Bedrooms are aice size, clean, comfortable and homely. Although I didn’t eat in the restaurant it was nicely set out, comfortable and relaxed and most of all clean. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

We booked not knowing the area, it was lovely country side, comfortable accommodation, excellent food .My wife is disabled , and they went out of their way tomake sure shehad a shower facility.We will be back in the future to see more of the area.

We arrived a Friday staying through Tuesday. We loved the quietness and the location as it was very close to our points of interest! We found the bed very comfortable to our liking and the breakfast food was outstanding!! I looked forward to it every day! Looking forward to our next visit!!

Lovely small accommodation set in countryside

This is a great little find ! The accommodation is comfortable and very very clean, with everything you need. The hosts have really thought of everything to make you stay comfortable. The breakfast was excellentwith more food and choice than you could actually manage!I would definitely recommend and will also be finding an excuse to come back.

Stayed here for a visit to the Lotus factory which was a 3 minute drive away. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and well equipped. Parking on site was very good. Would certainly stay here again if in the area.

I loved old thorn barn. The bedroom was large, comfortableand welcoming. With water, tea, milk,biscuits, toiletries, hair dryer, towels,and tv.The breakfast was superb and the service and welcome by Danny owner and chefand Carole, waitress, cleaner and everything else werebothgreat.We could park the car near our rooms and there were no stairs. The venue was quiet and comfy.Highly recommended .

I've never stayed in a B&B by myself before but after seeing reviews of Old Thorn Barn I decided I'd try it.It was easy to find, beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. Spotlessly clean and well kept. The bed was comfy and cosy. The breakfast room is spacious. I opted for porridge and toast, a full English breakfast was offered.I was made to feel very welcome. I definitely recommend a stay especially if you want to step out of a busy life to have a quiet rest.

It is very convenient for me visiting Lotus. Parking on site is very good. The price per night is very competitive. I have stayed in many hotels and paid twice as much for much less. I will continue to stay with you when convenient for me

Arrived slightly later than hoped but checked in with no real problems. I took a room in the 'outer block' which was cosy and had the necessary coffee/tea making available. Bed was ok and usual stuff catered for. Breakfast was very nice and served with a smile. The ONLY downside for me personally was no evening meal facilities meaning I had to drive out to find food. Would have been useful if I was fully au fait with the area but I did find something albeit a drive away. In consideration of this I'll mark accordingly.

Stayed here numerous times and have never found a better value for money B&B in the UK.Rooms are well equipped and spotlessly clean and there is a comprehensive, quality breakfast included in the room price. None of this pay at the hotel breakfast pricing that seems to have crept in from the Continent. What you see is what you get and what you get is better than hotels that charge double the price.

Have stayed at The Old Thorn Barn many times and have never been disappointed. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean and tidy. Plenty of hot water for showers with complimentary toiletries. This is all set in a very quiet and tranquil area, and they supply the best breakfast I’ve ever had in any B&B

Excellent stay. A different room from my last visit, this one had an enclosed patio area with a table and chairs. Unfortunately the weather wasn't nice enough to take advantage of it. A cooked breakfast is available and a choice of cereal.

Everything we could have wanted was there.All the little extras and plenty of tea and coffee.When Danny saw that we were somewhat ‘elderly’,he kindly gave us a room with a walk-in shower which was most helpful.The breakfast and service was excellent, the room was clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable.

We booked two nights accommodation to allow us to attend a track day at Lotus which couldn't be closer...Really friendly host, lovely clean, comfortable accommodation. Safe parking for the car and a really tasty home cooked breakfast. There is a reason its difficult to find availability here. 100% recommended, I'll do my very best to stay here again when I next visit Hethel.

Located in a beautiful part of Norfolk. Quiet and peaceful stay which was good as I was attending the LDA during the day. Hosts were very hospitable, breakfast options were plentiful and the rooms comfortable.

Breakfast was very good.Two things I would mention is the poor WiFi (in my room) but more importantly the noise of the power shower motor when my next door neighbour had a shower at 5.15 which consequently woke me up...and then again at 6am, by which point I gave up on sleep.I talked to the owner about this on my departure.

We have been returning to Old Thorn Barn, every year for the last 6 years, while we are racing at Snetterton Circuit. We are always warmly welcomed, rooms are clean and the breakfast is excellent, nothing is to much trouble. A good nights sleep is guaranteed as is very quiet. October 2020.

Stayed for just the one night whilst attendingthe Lotus Driving Academy>Hotel is located just a two minute drive away from the Lotus factory and is a great pace to stay.Breakfast was fantastic and the owner very flexible as we were a late arrival and needed an early start, both were easily negotiated.Rooms are very clean and coffee and biscuits were welcome snack on arrival.will definitely use again if in the area

Spacious room with even a more spacious bed led to a very comfortable two night stay whilst visiting relatives nearby. Very clean room and ensuite with use of small kitchen. Good choice of homecooked breakfast. Very friendly hosts. We will return !

I have stayed at the Old Thorn Barn numerous times, and each time I have stayed I have found the owner and his staff most welcoming, and my favorite room very comfortable, with everything in it I need. The breakfasts are delicious, and bountiful. The location is easy to access with plenty of free parking. It is my home away from home when I am visiting Norfolk.

Our group of three recently stayed for two nights to attend a wedding in the area. We couldn't fault Old Thorn Barn - it was spotlessly clean, well priced and the lovely breakfast was a bonus. The beds were very comfy too! Noise travelled quite easily in the communal areas but it wouldn't put me off staying again - we just got unlucky and had a group of early risers staying at the same time! Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated having access to a fridge and the communal lounge area. We would definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area.

Always my B&B of choice since B19 motor club have been running events ar Hethel, and now with my brother resident in Cringleford with no spare room, yours is much more comfortable than his settee! In any case he can't produce such a wonderful breakfast !

Stayed a Old Thorn Barn for one night prior to visit to Lotus Cars. A warm welcome on arrival, very nice room with a very comfortable bed. Good breakfast in morning. Would thoroughly reccomend if you are visiting Lotus or Norwich.

The Old Thorn is my preferred choice of stay wheneever I am in the areas. Danny our host is charming and helpful. The accommodation is first rate. I miss out on the cooked breakfast due to an early start but there is always a selection of cereals yoghurts and fruit juice for the early riser. I am already booked for my nest visit!

I stayed for one night in this lovely B&B. It was warm, peaceful and welcoming. I enjoyed sitting in the lounge area and wandering around in my slippers. It was like being at home. Old Thorn Barn was easy to find and the room was comfortable. I would definately recommend it and hope to go back in the future.

I stayed in Old Thorn Barn for attending Lotus Driving courses.Greeted by very friendly owner on my arrival.I needed to make some purchase from the supermarket but I didn't drive, owner was very kind and drove me to the nearby supermarket.Room was clean and tidy, comfortable , quiet and happy stay for three nights.I also saw a Lotus super car at the parking lot!Location was amazing, very close to Lotus Driving Academy and factory.If you are attending Lotus events, this is the place you should stay.Another Lotus event attendee also stayed here and we became friends.Breakfast was very good.A variety of cereals, juices, fruits and flexible choice of breakfast.I highly recommend Old Thorn Barn.Will definitely come back if I visit Hethel/Norwich again in the future.

Lovely place... nice clean and comfortable, great spreadfor breakfast... only mark down was himself would prefer fried bread to hash browns and baked beans with the full English breakfast ... will definitely stay again.

Stayed 3 nights at this excellent B & B. On arrival we were given the choice of a room with bath or a shower. It turned out to be more than adequate. Ample car parking. Breakfast was first class using local produce. Brilliant sausages! Would definitely stay at the Old Thorn Barn again.

I stayed in the Old Thorn Barn for 3 nights. The accommodation is excellent - excellent room, excellent lounge, excellent breakfast. Good parking. Doesn't quite get 5 stars because: 1) There was some corridor and door noise from other guests. 2) I was in room 5 which had the smokers table outside my window and I did get some smokers stink in my room.

This is the third time we have stayed at Old Thorn Barn. Danny is a lovely host and the breakfast is excellent. The rooms are lovely and beds are comfortable. Will be back next year.

I have traveled to 45 countries and stayed in some of the (so called) best hotels in the world. Frankly, Thorn Barn must be one of the best. They care about their visitors and as for the breakfast > fantastic. We will be going back.

A very welcoming establishment.Rooms are a good size, nicely furnished and with comfy beds.Good shower and plenty of hot water.Breakfast is superb and served in a lovely room.Certainly the best place to stay if you are visiting the factory and track at Hethel.Parking is good and Lotus friendly.

We booked Old Thorn Barn on several recommendations from within the Lotus community, and were very happy with our choice. It is the nearest accommodation to the Lotus factory, where we had booked a factory tour. Danny and Carol were great hosts, very friendly and welcoming, but also respecting our privacy. The accommodation, in a small outbuilding, was excellent. Very clean and comfortable. A good selection of tea, coffee, and biscuits was available in the room, and we also had access to a small communal kitchen with a microwave and fridge - useful for snacks and keeping the wine chilled! We wouldn't hesitate to return in the future, and highly recommend the Old Thorn Barn.

with my wife we really enjoyed spending 2 days at Old Thorn Barn. This is a pretty quiet place, rooms are large and comfortable, and our hosts were very friendly and customer oriented, big thanks for the experience.

Stayed at Ild Thorn Barn many times always made to feel welcome by Danny who does a great job and makes a fantastic breakfast. As we were at the race circuit for a 24 hour race we had 3 rooms in the court yard at the back which was great as we were keeping unusual hours. Had a great stay and will be back next month.

A beautiful base for our stay for the weekend spent exploring the Norfolk countryside and Broads.very clean room- comfortable bed-lovely bath with shower over-all the comforts of home! Followed by a very hearty breakfast in morning with lots of variety.Would most definitely recommend and hope to stay again later in the summer.

Old Thorn Barn was a recommendation from a friend, and they weren't wrong. Right location, right accommodation, right friendly personalisation!!

Had booked a single room for 1 night but was pleasantly surprised to find I'd been allocated a self contained studio (complete with small kitchen area and sitting area) in a converted barn. The novelty of this soon wore off when I realised there were no opening windows which meant the studio was stifling hot. There was a mobile air conditioning unit but that was very noisy. I had a fitful night's sleep due to the heat; I only discovered the next morning that a small oil filled radiator in the sitting area was switched on to maximum heat which explained to a certain extent the heat. Bathroom was very cramped (you could easily use the wash basin while sitting on the toilet) with an over complicated shower. The bathroom floor was made of roughly laid bare bricks (presumably for the rustic look) but not good for cleaning/hygiene purposes. Breakfast served in a pleasant room in an adjacent building was very good. To sum up this is a nice b&b with a few downsides
